Grand Rapids Toastmasters Club 404

slogan

what? Toastmasters is a safe and friendly place where you can develop and improve your communication and leadership skills.  Some of us are seasoned professional speakers, but over half of the members of Grand Rapids Toastmasters have been in the club less than a year.

why? Do you need to make presentations for your job, church or school?  Will you need to polish your speaking skills to advance in your career?  Whatever your interest might be, Toastmasters can show you how to communicate your ideas, gain leadership skills and confidence.  Competence leads to confidence.

how?
Active Toastmasters learn to improve their communication and leadership skills by attending weekly meetings.  Each meeting provides an opportunity for members to serve in various meeting roles, think on their feet (or off the cuff),
give an impromptu speech, present a prepared speech, assist and encourage another member by evaluating his or her speech, or lead the meeting.  We learn from each other.

where?

Grand Rapids Toastmasters meet at the Heather Hills Retirement Village at 1055 Forest Hill Ave SE, near the corner of Cascade Road and Forest Hill Avenue.  Click here for directions.

when?Grand Rapids Toastmasters meet weekly on Tuesday nights from 6:30 - 8:30 pm. Promptness is a Toastmasters virtue; the meeting will start promptly at 6:30pm to respect your valuable time and ensure we are complete by 8:30pm.  Feel welcome to arrive just a few minutes early so we can greet you.

Visitors are always welcome at Grand Rapids Toastmasters, and we look forward to meeting you.  If you have never been to a Toastmasters meeting, or you are a visiting Toastmaster from out-of-town, we would be happy to have you as our honored guest.

As a guest, we will invite you to participate in the meeting in ways that work for you.  We want you to feel comfortable trying something new.  We want you to enjoy the fun light-hearted personality of this club, knowing that you are safe to challenge yourself and grow.  We do make a practice of asking guests to briefly share their impressions of the meeting and we may ask you to consider joining the club.
